Short version: Swarm Rebuild doesn't collect your data. Here's exactly what it touches and why.

Last updated: November 7, 2026

Summary

Swarm Rebuild does not collect, store on a server, sell or share any personal or browsing data. Everything happens inside your browser, on your own device.
0 serversNo data is sent to the developer.
0 trackersNo analytics, ads or cookies.
1 tabRuns only where you click, when you click.

What the extension accesses, and why

  • Content of the current page. When you click the toolbar icon (or press Alt+Shift+S), the extension reads the layout, text and images of that one tab so it can draw the rebuild animation. This happens only on the tab you choose, only at that moment, and the content is never saved or sent anywhere.
  • One screenshot of the visible tab (sometimes). If the visible page contains videos, canvases or embedded frames, the extension takes a single screenshot of the visible area so those parts can be shown in the animation. It is kept only in memory while the animation runs, is discarded when you exit, and is never saved or uploaded.
  • Mouse position. At the end of the animation the cursors follow your mouse. The position is read only inside the page while the animation is open, and is not recorded.

What is stored on your device

The extension uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to remember a few settings on your own device:

  • your chosen build speed and whether sound is muted
  • how many rebuilds have finished, and whether you already rated the extension or dismissed the rating prompt

This information never leaves your device. You can remove it at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Ratings

If you choose a star rating in the in-page prompt, the extension opens the Chrome Web Store review page in a new tab, whatever rating you pick, so you can post your review there. A separate "Send feedback" button opens our support page instead. Your rating is not sent anywhere by the extension; anything you write on those pages is handled by those websites under their own policies.

Permissions

  • activeTab — run only on the tab where you click the icon, and take the one screenshot described above.
  • scripting — inject the extension's own bundled animation script into that tab.
  • storage — keep the small settings listed above on your device.

What the extension does not do

  • No analytics, tracking, advertising or cookies
  • No network requests to any server run by the developer
  • No access to other tabs, your browsing history, passwords, forms or accounts
  • No remote code; all code ships inside the extension package

This website

This website is a static site. It has no analytics, no cookies and no sign-in. The swarm animation you see here runs entirely in your browser. The contact form on the Support page does not send anything by itself: it only opens your own email app with a pre-filled message, and you decide whether to send it.

Children

The extension and this website do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
